GENOA 3DP Simulation

genoa_3d

GENOA 3DP is an additive manufacturing toolset that digitally supports the full AM work cycle, from material to part. Validated thermo-mechanical analysis, built on the back of 35 years of expertise in micromechanics material behavior, and driven by toolpath and print parameters, enables end-users to predict the build quality of their as-built parts considering variabilities such as material, design, orientation, and more. The result is a Predictive Digital Twin customers can rely on prior to committing time, material, and resources.

GENOA 3DP

GENOA 3DP is now available through the NX Platform and Simcenter 3D!  Partnering with Siemens Digital Industries Software, we’re now offering an end-to-end CAD to CAE thermo-mechanical process simulation solution for polymer 3D printing process (FDM, FFF, LFAM, SLS, etc.…). Enhance your additive manufacturing workflow with a holistic, production oriented approach to predict build quality of as-built parts considering material, design, toolpath, AM parameters, and print orientation.

BUSINESS VALUE

  • Enable an effective design for AM and engineering process.
  • Reduce costly trial & error approach, and iterative development work cycle.
  • Achieve optimal print configuration through fine tuning of AM variabilities.
  • As-built part meeting design and performance requirements.
  • Interoperability with preferred FE solver (e.g., Simcenter-Nastran, Abaqus, Ansys)
  • Develop materials for AM specific applications.

Technical value:

  • Implement machine toolpath / gcode to predict transient temperature changes and stress buildup effectively minimizing build issues.
  • Understand impact of materials, print path, print orientation, chamber temperature, and print parameters on build quality.
  • Considers the effect of defects to predict part performance and material behavior, reducing the need for extensive validation and verification processes.
  • Establish a database of qualified mechanical material models to be used as input into build simulation, ensuring the materials meet build and performance requirements.

Supported material extrusion AM Process:

  • Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM)
  • Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF)
  • Large Format Additive Manufacturing (LFAM)
  • Fused Granulate Fabrication (FGF)
  • Big Area Additive Manufacturing (BAAM)
